Analyze
How to run a page analysis — selecting content, entering a keyword, adding competitor URLs, reading every result section, and deciding what to act on first.
Where to find it
Go to SEO Copilot AI → Analyze in your WordPress admin sidebar. This is the main workflow page — everything else in the plugin feeds into or follows from what you do here.
Before you run an analysis, make sure your AI provider is configured in Settings. Without a valid API key, the plugin falls back to a local rule-based analysis with limited output and no AI-generated suggestions.
Step 1 — Select your content and keyword
The top section of Analyze has two input fields on the left and a competitor card on the right.
Choose a page, post, or product
The dropdown shows up to 200 of your most recently modified published and draft posts, pages, and WooCommerce products. Select the content you want to analyze. If you came from the Dashboard recent analysis table, your page may already be pre-selected.
Enter a target keyword
Type the primary keyword or phrase you want this page to rank for. Be specific — a single focused phrase such as wordpress seo plugin for agencies produces better recommendations than a broad term like seo. The keyword is used to score title relevance, heading alignment, keyword density, and AEO answer-readiness.
The keyword is required for a meaningful analysis — do not leave it blankStep 2 — Add competitor URLs (optional but recommended)
The competitor card on the right lets you add up to three URLs of pages that already rank well for your target keyword. The plugin fetches and analyzes those pages alongside yours, then uses the comparison to give more specific, context-aware recommendations.
- Use direct article, landing page, or product URLs — not homepages, category archives, or search results pages
- Choose pages that actually rank in the top 10 for your keyword — check Google before adding
- Add the URL in the input field and click Add page — repeat for each competitor
- You can add between one and three URLs; more is generally better for richer comparison
Competitor URLs are optional but have a measurable impact on output quality. Without them, recommendations are based on your page alone. With them, the plugin identifies what your content is missing compared to pages that are already winning for the keyword.
Step 3 — Run the analysis
Click Run analysis. The plugin sends your page content, keyword, and any competitor URLs to your configured AI provider. Analysis typically takes 5–15 seconds depending on page length, the number of competitors, and your chosen model.
One AI operation is used each time a successful analysis runs. Viewing saved results does not use operations.
Reading the results
A completed analysis returns several sections. Here is what each one means and how to use it.
SEO score, AEO score & E-E-A-T score
SEO score reflects title relevance, meta description quality, heading structure, keyword alignment, word count, internal links, and image alt text coverage.
AEO score reflects answer structure, FAQ readiness, schema markup, citation signals, and how directly the content answers the target keyword’s intent.
E-E-A-T score reflects authority signals, source support, freshness cues, expertise markers, and content credibility patterns.
Scores are 0–100. The plugin deliberately avoids giving 90+ unless a page is already performing very well — a score of 70–80 is solid for most pages. Focus on the gap between your current score and what a good page looks like, not on chasing a perfect 100.
Priority explanation
The priority system tells you how urgently a page needs attention. It is calculated from the combined SEO and AEO scores, the number and severity of identified gaps, and whether competitor pages have signals your page is missing.
Critical
Multiple serious gaps. This page needs substantial work before it can compete for the keyword.
High
Clear, impactful improvements available. Act on this page before lower-priority ones.
Medium
Worthwhile improvements exist but the page has a reasonable foundation. Work through it at a normal pace.
Low / Strong
The page is performing well. Small polishing opportunities may remain but nothing urgent.
Below the priority band, the plugin shows a plain-language explanation of why this page received its score — which specific signals pushed it into this band.
Fix this first
The highest-impact improvement identified for this page. The plugin surfaces one or two actions here — the changes most likely to move your scores meaningfully. Use this as your starting point before reading the full list of gaps or suggestions.
Fix-this-first actions are drawn from the top issues list, competitor gaps, and quick wins, filtered down to what the analysis considers most valuable given the current state of the page.
Gaps & quick wins
Gaps are problems detected on the page — missing keyword in the title, weak meta description, no FAQ structure, insufficient heading depth, missing alt text, and similar issues. Each gap is a specific signal the plugin found lacking.
Quick wins are short, concrete actions that can be applied relatively easily — adding one FAQ block, linking to a related page, improving the introduction, or strengthening an H2. These are ranked roughly by impact.
Title, meta & intro suggestions
The plugin generates alternative versions of your title tag, meta description, and page introduction. These are suggestions only — review each one critically before applying. The AI is instructed to be specific and keyword-relevant, but the final judgment of what fits your page and brand is always yours.
- Title suggestions are optimized for keyword inclusion and click-through appeal
- Meta suggestions aim for 120–160 characters with a clear value proposition
- Intro improvement suggests how to lead with a direct answer before expanding into detail
FAQ suggestions
Up to five question-and-answer pairs designed to improve your page’s answer-readiness. If your page already has an FAQ section, the plugin reads those questions and uses them as context. If not, it generates new ones based on the keyword and content.
FAQ content directly affects your AEO score — pages with clear, structured FAQ sections are easier for answer engines to surface. Adding even one well-written FAQ block can meaningfully lift the AEO score.
Schema suggestion
A JSON-LD schema block suggested for this page. The plugin proposes the most appropriate schema type — typically Article, FAQPage, or Product for WooCommerce pages — along with 1–3 key properties. Review it before applying; do not apply schema that does not accurately reflect the page content.
Before / after simulation
A projected view of what your scores could look like if you applied the top suggestions. This is an estimate, not a guarantee — it is designed to help you decide whether the effort is worthwhile, not to promise specific score improvements.
Competitor intelligence
Only shown when competitor URLs were added. This section compares your page against the fetched competitor content, highlighting what they have that your page is missing — stronger FAQ structure, more heading depth, schema types you lack, or content signals that are common among ranking pages but absent from yours.
Competitor gaps feed directly into the fix-this-first and top issues sections, making them more specific and accurate than analysis without comparisons.
What to do with the results
The results page is decision support, not a to-do list to complete mechanically. A practical approach:
- Start with the fix-this-first action — it is selected specifically because it has the highest expected impact
- Work through the top issues and quick wins in order, skipping anything that does not fit your page or audience
- Review title and meta suggestions as starting points, not finished copy — edit them to match your brand voice
- Add the FAQ block if you do not already have one — this is almost always worth doing
- Apply schema only if it accurately represents the page — never add inaccurate structured data
- Re-run the analysis after making changes to see updated scores
The plugin never modifies your content automatically. Every suggestion must be reviewed and applied manually. Nothing changes on your site unless you take an explicit action.
Common questions
The analysis returned a local fallback result instead of AI output
This happens when the AI provider is not configured, the API key is invalid, or you have reached your monthly operation limit. The local fallback uses rule-based scoring and produces more limited suggestions. Check Settings → AI provider and verify your key is saved and tested.
My scores seem lower than expected for a well-optimized page
The plugin deliberately avoids inflating scores. A score of 65–75 is typical for a solid but improvable page. Scores above 85 are reserved for pages that already have strong keyword alignment, good structure, FAQ content, schema, and competitive positioning. Use the priority explanation to understand which specific signals are pulling the score down.
Can I run analysis on a draft post?
Yes. The content dropdown includes both published and draft posts. Analysis works the same way regardless of post status — the plugin reads the saved post content directly from the database.
How many operations does one analysis use?
One successful AI-powered analysis uses one operation from your monthly quota. If the analysis falls back to local (rule-based) mode because the AI call failed, no operation is counted. Viewing, re-reading, or re-loading saved results never counts as an operation.
Will the plugin overwrite my existing title or meta?
No. Suggestions are shown for your review only. You choose whether to apply a suggested title or meta. The plugin reads existing Yoast SEO and Rank Math fields and writes suggestions to its own fields — it does not overwrite fields managed by other plugins unless you explicitly apply a change.
