AI Settings

This page explains how to configure AI behavior in ShopMind AI. These settings control how insights are generated, how outputs behave, and how the plugin interacts with AI-powered features.

What AI Settings control

AI Settings define how ShopMind AI generates insights, responses, and commercial guidance. Depending on your version and plan, these settings may influence:

  • output quality and detail level;
  • tone and structure of responses;
  • how aggressive or conservative suggestions are;
  • feature behavior across product analysis and pricing;
  • which AI-powered workflows are enabled; and
  • how external AI services are used.

AI connection

API / provider setup

If your version of ShopMind AI uses an external AI provider, you may need to configure connection details such as an API key or endpoint.

Once configured, ShopMind AI can send structured input (such as product data or context) to generate insights and recommendations.

Best practice

Always test your connection using a built-in test button or by running a simple product analysis before relying on AI features in production.

AI behavior settings

Output style

These settings control how AI responses are presented. For example, outputs may be more structured, more descriptive, or more concise depending on your configuration.

Level of detail

You may be able to adjust how detailed or simplified the results are. More detailed outputs provide deeper insight but may take longer or require more review.

Commercial tone

Some configurations may influence how commercially focused the suggestions are, such as whether outputs prioritize conversion, positioning, or conservative decision-making.

Feature controls

Depending on your plan and version, AI Settings may also control which features are active.

  • product analysis;
  • pricing guidance;
  • competitor insights;
  • revenue or demand signals;
  • upsell and cross-sell suggestions; and
  • advanced commercial workflows.

Some features may be limited or disabled depending on your license level.

Usage and limits

Some versions of ShopMind AI may include usage limits for AI-powered operations. This can include:

  • number of AI operations per month;
  • feature-specific limits;
  • rate limits or throttling;
  • plan-based restrictions; or
  • fallback behavior when limits are reached.

If limits are reached, ShopMind AI may use a default response, delay execution, or disable certain features until the next usage period.

Best practices

  • Start with default settings before making advanced changes.
  • Test outputs on a few products before scaling usage.
  • Adjust detail level based on how you plan to use the results.
  • Use consistent settings across workflows for predictable results.
  • Review outputs manually before acting on them.

Important

AI-generated outputs are based on patterns and input data and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or context-dependent. They should always be reviewed before being used in pricing, product strategy, customer communication, or commercial decisions.

Common issues

No output from AI

Check your connection settings and confirm that all required fields are saved correctly.

Low-quality results

Try adjusting detail settings or testing with a different product that has more complete data.

Features not available

Some AI features depend on your plan or license. Verify your current access level.
