Installation & Setup

This guide walks you through installing ShopMind AI, activating your license where applicable, configuring the main settings, and preparing the plugin for day-to-day use in WooCommerce.

Before you begin

Before installing ShopMind AI, make sure your environment is ready.

  • A working WordPress installation
  • WooCommerce installed and active
  • Administrator access to the WordPress dashboard
  • A stable hosting environment with normal WordPress plugin support
  • Your ShopMind AI plugin zip file
  • Your license key if you are using a paid version

Step 1. Install ShopMind AI

Install from a zip file

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New.
  3. Click Upload Plugin.
  4. Select the ShopMind AI zip package.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. When installation completes, click Activate Plugin.

After activation, you should see a new ShopMind AI menu in the WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2. Activate your license

If you are using a paid version, open the plugin’s license or settings page and enter your license key.

Once your key has been saved, ShopMind AI should validate it against the NordicDataTools licensing system and unlock the features available in your plan.

Tip If your license change does not appear immediately, refresh the page and run the built-in connection or validation test if available.

Step 3. Review the main settings

Go to ShopMind AI → Settings and review the available configuration sections. The exact options may vary depending on your version and plan, but the core setup usually includes:

  • General plugin settings
  • AI-related configuration
  • License and connection status
  • Feature-specific options for analysis and commercial guidance
  • Help, diagnostics, and legal information

Start simple. Configure only what you need first, then refine the setup as you learn how the plugin behaves in your store.

Step 4. Configure AI functionality

ShopMind AI uses AI-assisted logic for selected product, pricing, competitor, and commercial insight features. If your version supports external AI configuration, open the AI settings area and enter the required connection details.

Depending on the feature set in your version, this may include:

  • API or provider connection details
  • Model or response preferences
  • usage or feature controls
  • default behavior for specific workflows
Best practice Use a test product first so you can confirm that ShopMind AI is returning useful output before applying the plugin more broadly across your store.

Step 5. Check connection and status

Before using ShopMind AI in production, review the plugin’s status, diagnostics, or connection area if available. Confirm that:

  • the plugin is activated correctly;
  • your license is valid, if required;
  • AI-related settings are saved correctly;
  • WooCommerce is detected and working properly; and
  • there are no obvious connection or configuration errors.

This step helps reduce confusion later when running analysis or testing commercial features.

Step 6. Run your first real test

Once installation and setup are complete, choose one product and run a first test inside ShopMind AI.

For example, you might use the plugin to:

  • review product positioning;
  • generate pricing guidance;
  • inspect product-level opportunities;
  • review commercial suggestions; or
  • explore competitor-oriented insights.

Starting with a single product is the easiest way to verify that your store data, plugin settings, and AI workflow are working as expected.

Important note about commercial outputs

ShopMind AI provides AI-assisted commercial guidance for decision support only. Pricing suggestions, competitor observations, revenue estimates, demand signals, margin insights, and related outputs should always be reviewed before use and do not guarantee sales, profitability, market demand, competitor availability, or legal compliance.

Common setup issues

The plugin does not appear after activation

Make sure activation completed successfully and that there are no PHP errors or fatal conflicts with your environment.

WooCommerce is not detected

Confirm that WooCommerce is installed, active, and fully loaded before using ShopMind AI.

License validation fails

Double-check your license key, confirm the site can reach external services, and review the plugin status or diagnostics area.

AI features return empty or weak results

Review AI settings, test with a stronger product example, and confirm that the required connection details are saved properly.
